The Arc Fault Detection Device… again.

Some humourous but valid observations on AFDDs, the state of the industry, the wiring regs and future amendment requirements.

He also attempts to build a AFFD tester which electrically tests rather than relying upon the mechanical action of the test button on the device itself.

  • Hi Colin,

At that length, that is more of a position paper than a risk assessment !  Though I do agree with the conclusion and points made. My RAs tend to be short, and then to refer out to the supporting documents. Are you proposing to comment on the DPC  for the regs ?

And if you want to turn that into a paper and need some one to re-do the drawings in slow time let me know ...

    regards

    Mike.
