The Arc Fault Detection Device… again.

Some humourous but valid observations on AFDDs, the state of the industry, the wiring regs and future amendment requirements.

He also attempts to build a AFFD tester which electrically tests rather than relying upon the mechanical action of the test button on the device itself.

  • Hello Mike.

Thank you for your comments.  My RAs are usually much shorter for work situations, but I keep this rather lengthy one with the house deeds for change-of-ownership stuff as a record of the thinking behind why there are no AFDDs fitted.  I do plan to comment on the DPC because I think mandating AFDDs for the UK situation is not a sensible move.

    Regards,

              Colin.
