CP FUSEBOX RCBOs

Anyone know if these can be tested directly of their terminals, or do I need to test from the destination end?

I recall that certain RCBOs cannot be tested other than from the end of the circuit. Those with earth reference leads such as the MEM 2 and the MK ones.

  • As far as I know the problem with a few RCBOs is that the circuit wiring passes through the sense coil before getting to the screw terminal. It's just down to the physical layout of the device - nothing to do with whether it has a functional earth lead or not. As I understand it you can test at the device, just as long as your test probe takes the same route as the normal wiring (i.e. entering through the top hole) rather than making contact with the terminal screw head directly.
