LED Lighting Panels

Just looking for a steer on the state of play with the LED Panels available today. Any horrors as regards liability? Local wholesaler now only sells Ansell items but the surface mount boxes are more expensive than the panels themselves!

Looking at 4 x 600x600 surface mount items.

Anyone have a favored reliable brand they can recommend?

    I am sure you mean reliability!   Been routinely fitting various LED panels the last 4 or 5 years and no horrors as yet; probably in excess of 100, but the plain, non-dimmable ones. Generally a replacement of old recessed modular flows in suspended ceilings. Always used D**M*NS stuff branded a bit like a Church Spire [ we do not want advertising in this forum!]. 


    You may find that the surface kit is a bit of a Meccanno affair. It comes flat pack Ikea style. You need to assemble it perfect square to get everything to sit nice. Only done a few of those, a bit fiddly, so allow more time. I suppose the panel being boxed in may increase the chance of heat build up, however, four surface I did two or three years ago are still going strong.  Clients love LED panels, being totally amazed at the improvement on the original flows.
