We have just received invitation to tender for the inspection and test of EV charge points at a number of government sites. A sort of PAT test is what it appears they are after although the specification calls for insulation resistance test in accordance with IET COP for In-service inspection and testing of electrical equipment 5th Edition AND BS7671 2018!. I have no intention of chasing it but I am interested in how one might go about applying an insulation resistance test to a charge point unless the intention is to gain access and disconnect the out-going flexible lead, if there is one.
