Plugging in a fire alarm is a bit unusual, presumably not a problem to BS7671 as it is an appliance wired like this and out of scope, but I assume it is hardly to BS 5839 or whatever it is now for fire alarms in blocks of flats. Also a plug will not be not the right sort of terminals and cord grip for the cable.
