Repositioning non fire rated led kitchen spots.

As above,been asked move 6 spots due to new kitchen layout.The ceiling is single boarded with a bedroom above.

Just wondering if all fittings must be changed for fire rated.

    Or looking at it another way, given that the cans are superior to the open back down lights in every way and are as cheap as chips why are we even having this discussion?

    Since open backed downlights are still on sale in trade catalogues,,Napits C3( improvement advised) coding if they are installed in a 1st

    floor ceiling of a semi,would render them unusable in most situations if the coding were correct?

    The cans caused nothing but problems with the old halogen lamps because of heat build up.  Not too much of a problem with LED.  We are having this discussion because somebody is incorrectly coding them.

    Generally they are unusable.

    Depends on the customer requirements. If the customer is particularly attached to the exiting ones (fancy or match the ones in the rest of the house or whatever) then we're back to really needing to be sure of our facts.
