Hello all.
I have a downlight, and the bezel does not fit flush to the ceiling.
I have fitted a Meridian LED fire rated IP65 downlight FRDLED565WHI in the plasterboard ceiling above a shower tray.
I got the fitting from Toolstation.
The 73mm hole, the plasterboard ceiling, and the springs, are absolutely perfect. There is no problem there.
Imagine looking at the bezel from the side; from the plasterboard downwards, this is what I can see:-
A soundproofing gasket.
The edge of the face of the black can
A rubber waterproofing gasket.
The white bezel.
The white bezel has a recess in it, but the recess is not deep enough to accomodate the soundproofing gasket, the face of the can, and the waterproofing gasket. The recess just accomodates most of the waterproofing gasket.
If I fit the bezel without the gaskets, then the bezel covers the face of the black can, and the bezel sits flush to the ceiling.
However, I have to use the gaskets because I want an IP65 seal, to prevent moisture going into the loft space above.
Have any of you installer encountered this type of problem?
Thanks
Steve (go easy on me, this is my first post)
