Trefoil Parallel Cables

hi there, we have a project where we have specified 5 x 1c x 240mm2 cables on ladder for a 3ph CHP feed.

Having looked in the Guidance Notes we can see there is a laying configuration for 2, 3, and 4 cables in parallel but nothing for 5 singles in parallel.

we have asked the cable manufacturer for advice, and cables these days come from abroad, and we are unable to obtain advise on laying configuration.

is anyone able to throw any lighting on how the cables should be laid on the cable ladders? or where we might look to obtain that information?

hope someone can point us in the right direction.

  • I think at 5 x240mm2 the relationship is more to do with weigtht , might be a minimum spacing requirement ?
