S.W.A Glands.

I have seen the light and been converted. I use a lot of S.W.A. 20S and 20 size glands. I used to use the ordinary "indoor" dry conditions type, but now I use the outdoor CW 20S and 20 everywhere, indoors or outdoors. I like the fact that the cable is gripped both by the armouring AND by the waterproof gland part  as well. This is likely to prevent loosening of the armouring if the cable is bashed.

Thoughts?

  • Good Lad, at long last.

SWA glands are not what they used to be in terms of quality of construction. I only use 3 part CW glands for all applications. 3 part  glands used to be an option for indoor applications, but the bean counters 'value-engineered' the quality out of them in pursuit of even more profit and made them the useless. The impractical 2 part rubbish that is available today is frustrating waste of time and money to the serious contractor.

Nothing but CW vfor me now. It makes for a neater, more secure and neater install than any 2 part rubbish in the mkt today
