Old R.C.C.B. Tester.

Good afternoon,

I have found an old Robin R.C.C.B. tester. Model number 5402D in its original case.

I used it to test an R.C.D. socket in the kitchen and it displayed 8mS at 30 mA. I wondered just how accurate this reading was, so I then tested the same R.C.D. socket with a new Multi T tester.

The result? Exactly the same, 8mS.

The old Robin tester must date back to the 80s or 90s. I am impressed.

  • I have a Chauvin Arnoux one of the same age. It agrees with the MFT on good supplies, it is much more reliable on bad ones, with noise and poor waveforms. Not everything improves with the date of manufacture!
