John Peckham:
I have recently updated my specification for domestic inspection and testing.
I agree with your sentiments in publishing a specification for Electrical Inspection and Testing but I am disallusioned with the market place. The domestic scene appears to be a nogo, since the cheapest is sought and My Builder seems to fill the bill for most plebs; even without a registration body or 2391. There is maybe a market in the commercial scene for the professional but is it worth the effort?. I think that the registration bodies are to blame!

Oh dear. A percentage of circuits? What percentage ? Why not all the circuits as you would not PA test a percentage of appliances and pronounce all the others to be OK would you? No separate list of inspections to be carried out an no list of tests that will be undertaken. Not exactly a comprehensive specification for the work that will be undertaken. Happy to send Stortford Electrical Services a copy of my specification if they want it!
