Kidde Slick Smoke & Heat Alarms.

I finally  got the Kidde Slik wireless mains powered system installed and working.

WARNING. The push in electrical terminals at each alarm are a pain in the armour to use. 1.0 and 1.5 mm2 solid copper conductors are not easy to insert into the push in terminals. You need the strength of Goliath and the patience of Job (pronounced Jobe to rhyme with "annoyed"). In  the last section of two alarms they did not initially work. When I checked, the second from the end its neutral conductor had come out from the piff poor terminals when screwing the base to the ceiling.

A poor design.

P.S. Spring toggle fixings do not work very well in old Norfolk reed plastered ceilings.

I know what you mean though - I fitted one using 7-strand 1.5mm² conductors - they really didn't want to go into their stiff push terminals (that's one downside of using BS 8436 cables for everything at home ?).
