Exposed Power Cable - Irish Sea

One of my ex-seagoing colleagues forwarded this to me earlier:-


A British Admiralty Navigation Warning

WZ 119/21 041955 UTC Feb 21 


IRISH SEA, EASTERN PART.

Liverpool Bay Northwards.

Exposed power cable in position 53-45.0N 003-24.3W.

Wide berth requested.


That position is about 15 miles or so NW of Southport  No mention of voltage etc.


Not the sort of job that Alan or UKPN would likely want...

    mind you Feb 21 is a good day for scary warnings.

    Further round  the coast the hazards have not yet been electrified

    1. Gas pipeline unsecure on seabed at 53-01.2N 001-44.9E with risk of rupturing.

    2. Vessels are advised to keep clear of the area.
