Below, late 2019. Pre house purchase EICR, a repo, so a bit squalid. This is under stairs in an open area in the hall. Note nicely supported and routed supply tails. Aside from lots of other things, it was recommended that on purchase, they should get an isolator fitted to aid any prospective future works. It is not relevant to the thread, but that is a 100mA RCD. The meter is a credit pre pay meter. Also, what was likely the wooden cover for this "cupboard" has long gone, so this lot is all readily accessible to anyone that may want to tug around with the tails inadvertently.

Fast forward last week, 2021.
A year after purchase, they are thinking of attending to the issues from the EICR, but they did get an isolator fitted. I know not who did it, but as the meter was changed, it is likely it was at the same time , so a "supplier", perhaps, not the DNO, though of course it could have been. Thing is, they have been and gone and left it like this as picture below; all dangling/ washing line style. I see this a lot. There was plenty of spare space on the back board for positioning and clipping, but clearly too much effort. Upshot, it is now worse than in 2019.
