The Continuing Saga (and debate) about S.W.A. Cable.

L.V. AND Cat 5 in the same cable. Are we happy with this?

Loooooooooooooooooooooook

  • Interesting video, but didn't explain how the cable meets CAT 5 standard with only 2 conductors, when full CAT 5 is 4 pairs, and the minimum that CAT 5 uses is at least 2 pairs (minimum 10BASE-T or 100BASE-T)?

Anyway, no problem, even if different voltage bands, provided all conductors are insulated to highest voltage present (in which case you will effectively have double insulation at the highest voltage).

Already in place in a number of automation, BMS and control cables ... and the pilot wiring in an EV charging cable (charger to vehicle cable), for pilot and optional CANbus.
