Underground or Overground (nothing to do with wombles!)

Hi All, another quick question:


I need to run a supply from a house to a detached garage, about 1.2m apart.

If underground does it really need to be 0.6m deep?

If overghead, can I ignore the minimum height if fixed to something substantial rather than just bridging the gap?

    yes, it can be less than 60cm, but needs to be deep enough to be protected against likely disturbance.  So arguably under a concrete path, about 3 inches is enough so long as it will never be dug up ?

    Similarly if there is an archway or a bridge, then a cable can be attached to it even if it is lower.
