Is there any regulations that state that the inside of a consumer unit needs to be IP rated? I know some consumer units contain shrouding over bus bars etc?
All Consumer Unit makers will say to turn off the main switch before removing the front cover., so if you do that, there will be only the screws holding the incoming cable in an energised state.
