Extent of Electrical Installation Covered by this Report.

A potential customer has just handed me a copy of an E.I.C.R. The reason given for the  extent of the report is:

“Consumer Unit Only.”

The report seems to be genuine regarding the information provided. The reason for it is that the house is let to a tenant. A basic Test Schedule is included.

  • An official  request for a new seal will be made when all work is finished.

There is an official procedure by SSE (in my area) for accessing their main fuses. Beforehand, they issue strips of numbered, stick on labels to those qualified, electrical contractors; they also require notification of each useage, in order that a follow up can be made for their seal to be fitted. I fully endorse that procedure!
