Extent of Electrical Installation Covered by this Report.

A potential customer has just handed me a copy of an E.I.C.R. The reason given for the  extent of the report is:

“Consumer Unit Only.”

The report seems to be genuine regarding the information provided. The reason for it is that the house is let to a tenant. A basic Test Schedule is included.

When one is used, the sparks notifies SSE and gets a replacement. It is good that SSE treats electricians as adults.

In my case and I have been using paper seals for over 10 years; they issue me with 10 off which have to be used; and notification made to them before another set of seals is issued. They do follow up as I have found when I was phoned on my mobile, when they couldn't find one of my notified addresses.

They will issue them after having confirmation that one is a “competent” member of a registered organisation, not just as an electrician/adult, they have to be careful in the present blame culture.
