Flapping earthing conductors?

  • I normally agree with the customer that if I find any minor problems like a cracked socket, I will replace it there and then, and not leave it and return later. What do you do?

  • It would be nice to have eighteen like that to do EICRs for instead of the old and tatty stuff that’s more commonly found.

  • Seems like a nice lad and competent - could be Zoomy's grandson. Yes, I'd offer to replace the broken socket. Would a tenner be reasonable?

Oh shoot, you guessed Chris.  I would just replace the cracked socket and bill the flat owner, after agreement obviously. It saves a return visit and inconvenience to the tenant.

  • There really are not many installations to inspect and test in such good condition as that.

It is an unrealistic representation of what an electrician generally encounters when undertaking landlords EICRs.
