L.E.D. 6 ft. Fluorescent Batten Fitting.

My neighbour has two L.E.D. batten fittings installed in his kitchen. The brand is Noname.

The long 6 ft. jobbie has started to flicker and is unreliable. Some days it works, others its doesn't. The installer has been asked to return to sort it  but has not done so. The fitting is less than a year old. It is one of those integrated types in white with an inverted hump back bridge as the light output part.

Who makes good, reliable, smart, white 6 ft. L.E.D. batten fittings these days please?

  • I have never had a problem with xcite (tamlite) fittings.

  • Ansell Topline is what I normally use but I’ve only once put them in a kitchen.

  • 4 or 5 foot will be plenty bright enough

Hello Colin, the customer wants the 6 ft. replaced.

  • Depends on how big yer kitchen is and what colour. But I do agree that they tend to appear brighter than the fluoros they replace

Over bright in many cases. So bright that they hurt the eyes.

  • It does seem a long time now since we first got accustomed to those early LEDs and the subsequent addition of more colours

  • So, just how “green”, “eco friendly” and “carbon neutral” are these short lived L.E.D. luminaires and lamps that have to be disposed of after a short period of use due to being of  poor quality? At least with the old type fluorescent fittings a new tube or fluorescent starter unit would normally get the beast going again for many years.
