Slimline L.E.D. Batten Luminaire.

A customer had a KSR L.E.D. batten fitting fail within a year. I looked inside the driver and it is filled to capacity with electronic components. There is just so much that can fail. There is nothing black or blown up, so the fault must be a failed or intermittently faulty component.

The replacement was one of these…

But there is not room inside for terminating cables. The unit comes with a half metre long pre-installed flex and three ceiling fixings. It is fiddly to install and a bit of a pain. The flex has to run inside a channel or the fitting will not sit tight against a ceiling. Very bright though. Avoid.

In my opion this forum has deteriorated over the past year or so and becoming more like “titter” etc.

This is advertising, albeit negative in this case, a case for a compensation claim by the manufacturer; a moderator should remove this asap. I have used 2 of such strip fittings as adjoining ones along a kitchen, with another shorter one at right angles over the working area; the owner was very pleased and remarked on the brightness and “distributed level of illumination”!.
