Old couple. Modern retirement bungalow. Asked for a socket to be moved so that a hallway nightlight can work better for nighttime visits to the W.C. To save money I suggested using the passageway light which switch is located right next to the bedroom door.

“Oh no”, said the old girl, “We don't turn on that light at night”.

    Not really a surprise Zoom.

    I rewired a house, old lady, a bit infirm.

    She used to fill the kettle, walk across the kitchen with it to plug it in, once boiled unplug it to walk back with it to use it. To her the kettle full of water was heavy and hard walk to walk across the kitchen with it.

    So I put a new socket right in the area of use to make life easier.

    Job sorted - No she could not get used to it cos she always walked across the kitchen with the kettle , always had done, always will do.

    You can not win
