Old couple. Modern retirement bungalow. Asked for a socket to be moved so that a hallway nightlight can work better for nighttime visits to the W.C. To save money I suggested using the passageway light which switch is located right next to the bedroom door.

“Oh no”, said the old girl, “We don't turn on that light at night”.

    I guess the obvious reason is it's a bit dazzling when you're half asleep. You could get her to put one of those horrible compact fluorescents lamps in there that take an age to brighten up.  :)

    Actuuuuuuuuuuuuuualllllly, there is already a slow to brighten up compact fluorescent lamp in the aforementioned area.?
