1 MVA Tx cables

Hello,

On a project were a 1 MVA transformer is being installed, the cables from the transformer to the main LV panel are sized as 4x4x1C 240mm2 + 2x1C 240mm2 cpc.

UKPN advised that the transformer is only capable of receiving maximum 2x300mm2 single cables per phase.

Has anyone faced a similar situation?

Based on preliminary calculations it seems that the 2x300 per phase are not enough.

Your thoughts on this would be welcomed.

    Normally the connections are to studs so that several crimp tags may be fitted at once to each. This limitation sounds a little odd, worth checking how the connections are designed. It may be that there is some space limitation.
