Banding as fire clip?

Do you think steel banding like this is adequate as a fire clip? Screwed and plugged to masonry or screwed to timber.

    What became of the old style T-shaped cable buckles.  Far easier to set up a tight and straight cable run using them than with modern cable clips.   Are they now prohibited?

    And why are cable clips for one square mill cable the same size as those for one point five
