Onsite-substations

Hi,

Just wondering for onsite-substations are they property of the DNO or the site owner?

How would  the supplies be worked out? For example, will the DNO provide a supply point coming out of the substation with a fuse cut-out and meter ready to be connected to a panel board etc?

Thanks.

Regards,

J

Ahh I get you now. So it would be something like this: the service cable (blue line) coming into the LV switch room ( either brick built or GRP ) through a CT and going into lets say a big panel board?

Not necessarily. You need to have this dialogue with the DNO / Meter Operator now. We often put CTs inside the chamber immediately before the customer main switch, but it must be sealable. One reason for this, is there is a maximum cable distance that the metering CTs can be run, but I don’t recall the distance off hand.

    Regards,

    Alan.
