maintenance free-ish SWA to PVC/Rubber flex join ideas

Good morning all

Joint outside not underground and within housing.

It is not possible to redo the cable segment (sadly).

What could be a solution to join small csa 3core SWA (armour not acting as CPC) to some PCV/Rubber flex and that would be maintenance free (-ish … as in it could be inspected but with great inconvenience).

What about a galv through box SWA gland in one end, stuffing gland in other and some push fits ?

Thought about crimping (as all stranded) but  couldnt solve armour bit  and enclosing joins in small adaptable box.

Any ideas please

Habs

  • It's what I would do but probably with a plastic box e.g.Wiska. I have no idea why I prefer plastic boxes even in dry conditions.

but… in that case what to do with the armour which needs continuity ?

edit: forget that daft question of mine above (use standard fly lead from earthbar to CPC on cable etc)

  • The water bore hole guy would tell you to use a resin joint kit.

  • How about filling a wiska box with ‘magic gel’ and then claiming it's a ‘compound filled or encapsulated joint’ under 526.3(ii)?

    Wiska earthing plates.

Use on of the brass earth bars for Wiska boxes intended for providing a connection to the SWA gland.

  • thank you all.
