3183Y - suitable to be slung from a catenary?

I would like to run a temporary supply (2 -3 years) to a large shed for lighting and a socket. The span for the catenary is 15m. I happen to have a drum of 3183Y (HO5 VV-F) 2.5mm white, don't remember where from and I can't foresee a use for so could/should I utilise this (apart from the aesthetics of a white cable up in the air)?

I've read that 3183Y isn't suitable for outdoors but will it degrade in 2 - 3 years?

This is my own gaff, not a paying customer!

  • Yes, the word “Temporary” is open to all sorts of thoughts.

I remember a number of years ago there had been a fatal electric shock, investigators dealing with the situation and electrical contractor responsible for the dodgy install just wasnt undertsanding where the tone and direction of questioning was leading from the investigators. Until the lead investigator was getting so annoyed at the electrical contractor and his attitued, he shouted out whilst pointing to the corpse on the floor “ I suppose you are gong to tell me thats a temporary death………….” the contractor pretty quickly then understood the dire situation he was then in.
