Guardian warm roof

Hello, I am just looking for some advice, we are soon to be having out conservatory roof replaced, and I'm Trying to plan my wiring for spotlights to be fitted, just trying to find out if there is anything I need to be aware of for depths of spotlight etc, as cant get much info from the suppliers,

Just to highlight I am. Qualified for this task. Just want a heads up from. Anyone who has done them before with regards to cabling routing etc will all be a big help in advance

Spot lights eh? What are you trying to spot light, figurines, enemy aircraft or paintings?

Oh, and lighting design usually starts with determining the lighting effect needed, then suitable luminaires to achieve that.

  • If the ceiling is white, then uplighters will give a nice diffused non glare lighting effect.

  • The traditional problem with lights in plastic roofs used to be  heat, and the solution used to be doing things on the surface or large cut outs. However, low wattage LED based fittings mean that problem is gone,  replaced with questions about how to conceal the LED driver, which is really a mains to DC power supply.

What wiring have you got at the moment - is it in the metal box sections of the conservatory ? are you burying new wire in the new roof - is new roof the type lined with a plasterboard  finish or PVC clad over timber ?

I presume you have seen the guardian roof drawings . and installer guide Theinsulated plasterboard can be grooved on the back, taking a slice out of the foam to add cables or Flexi conduit may be worth fitting behind the liner if you are not too sure where things will need to emerge.
