Recommend a diesel generator.

broadgage

About 20 KVA, for domestic and home business standby use.  New preferred, but good, low hours used considered.

Weatherproof enclosure not needed as to be installed in a purpose built brick outbuilding.

Push button electric start required, not auto start.

Reliability, and user serviceable at least for minor services, are the most important features.

    Generator now delivered, £5,999 including delivery. It took a little searching to find a single phase version, this size is available in single phase or three phase but the later is more popular.

    Cables installed a few weeks ago, 35mm 3 core for generator output, 6mm 3 core for mains into generator shed, battery charger, engine heater, room lighting, and weatherproof sockets mounted externally for unrelated outdoor equipment.

    And 7 core 2.5mm for any remote controls or monitoring that may be needed. All cables are SWA.
