Horse Risk?

We worry about step Voltages in farm yards and around stables etc. What about this? An 11kV transformer in a pasture on two poles. This supplies local cottages and farm houses. At the base of the poles is a horse eating grass. Any danger?

  • A fence installed around the LV pole is the most likely solution. The step volage, as I remember, is approximately 240V/m, A step volage of 25V might well be sufficient to distrupt the nags life style. You might like to do the maths.
