M.C.B. Failure number two. A B6.

After an old hot filament G.U.10 lamp blew, the lighting B6 M.C.B. would not reset.  After testing the lighting circuit and replacing the M.C.B. all was well. Is this acceptable that a breaker can be damaged in such a way, or are they all now of very low quality? The make was an Alto brand.
