Hi
I Know that PVC cables leach their plasticiser when in contact with polystyrene.
I am wondering if EV ultra with carbon tek outer would have the same problem, can't find anything on line.
Well firstly the XLPE refers only to the insulation on the inner cores, the EV ultra cable outer jacket is just black PVC, either with or without the carbon lubricant.. However not all flexible PVC formulations have a problem with polystyrene and it is likely that this does not but to be sure you could ask Doncaster cables tech folk as they actually make it. Let us know if you get an answer either way.

Hi Mike
I had a question in with them, wasn't expecting a quick response, but just had a response back from them, pleasant surprise as I can't get anyone to provide me price and availability on some of their cables.
"As with all PVC products, it is best practise to ensure that they do not come into contact with any polystyrene products.
Hope this helps to clarify."
