Upon what empirical criteria is this decision based upon? Where are the results of the research? Or is it just a result of an office water cooler chat during a break at the latest JPEL/64/CENLEC meeting?
I would be most interested to hear the outcome of some experimentation being carried out by our esteemed Dave Stone on this subject. I knee-jerked into parting with a large wedge for a Type B DP RCD to protect a ground source heat pump fairly recently and now wonder if it was actually required, especially when the heat pump manufacturer's 'engineer' could not provide a definitive answer, and only came back with "We specify a Type B for our equipment" after I had posted him a article on the subject. from Doepke.
