AMD 2 .THE FUTURE OF TYPE A\C RCDs

So, no more Type A\C RCDs post AMD 2.

Upon what empirical criteria is this decision based upon? Where are the results of the research? Or is it just a result of an office water cooler chat during a break at the latest JPEL/64/CENLEC meeting?

  • There are no statistics, as per spd and afdd.

When manufacturers sit in the jpel panel, they expect their r and d investment to be paid for.

  • I would be most interested to hear the outcome of some experimentation being carried out by our esteemed Dave Stone on this subject. I knee-jerked into parting with a large wedge for a Type B DP RCD to protect a ground source heat pump fairly recently and now wonder if it was actually required, especially when the heat pump manufacturer's 'engineer' could not provide a definitive answer, and only came back with "We specify a Type B for our equipment" after I had posted him a article on the subject. from Doepke.
