In-service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment

I've just purchased a copy of this code of practice................what a mouthfull that title is............what can we abbreviate that to to avoid any reference to PAT testing, which I always believed led to much confusion and the term portable appliance also confusing.
At last the IET seems to have come up trumps here with an easily read, non confusing code of practice, well done..............pity about the title though, I guess the term PAT testing is going to be around for many years to come.

Agreed, and "PAT" meaning "portable appliance testing" always led to the tautology of "PAT testing" Nauseated face

  • "tautology " Hah there is a term for it. Good. I`ve always shuddered when someone says PAT Testing or PIN Number or TUC Congress etc etc
