EICR form - feeder pillar protective device

Good afternoon all, it's been many years since I've posted in the IET forums, but I've had a search and cannot find the answer.

We're carrying out EICRs on our private HV network and are creating EICRs for the feeder pillars using the NICEIC software (not the best).  Would anyone have any idea what to put as the supply protective device, as the only protective device upstream of the incomer to the feeder pillar is the VIP300 relay on the HV side of the TX?

  • The transformer itself?

  • How would the transformer be the protective device?

  • The NICEIC forms are based on those in Appendix 6 of 7671, which tend to be more suited for small, standard installations and therefore, perhaps, unsuitable for your situation.
I guess the important point is that you have exercised diligent oversight of your electrical system by subjecting it to a periodic inspection and unless there is some safety issue relating to the lack of LV side upstream protection, I wouldn’t be concerned about filling every empty box.

  • Thanks Lyle. Unfortunately, I don’t think you can N/A this box. Bring back paper reports and certificates!!!
