EICR form - feeder pillar protective device

Good afternoon all, it's been many years since I've posted in the IET forums, but I've had a search and cannot find the answer.

We're carrying out EICRs on our private HV network and are creating EICRs for the feeder pillars using the NICEIC software (not the best).  Would anyone have any idea what to put as the supply protective device, as the only protective device upstream of the incomer to the feeder pillar is the VIP300 relay on the HV side of the TX?

  • The distribution circuit to the feed pillar needs circuit protection on the LV side of the transformer.

I would have thought there would have been an MCCB panel board with MCCBs protecting each of the distribution circuits to each feed pillar. Maybe if your feed pillar circuits are substantial then an ACB to protect the circuit.

The feed pillars are not in a ring are they? What size cable to each feed pillar? How are these distribution circuits connected to the Tx. if there is not circuit protection?

  • It’s an MoD site, and this is the standard installation for our DSS’ - RMU with VIP300 relay - TX - 4 single LV cables to feeder pillar  disconnectors, the only protection in the feeder pillar is for the outgoing ways and small heater.
