fuse issue

trying to source this is proving to be a bit vague, does anyone know where i can get them in the UK?

Might be worth asking one of the admins to move this to the Wiring and Regulations section where they seems to be generally more activity.

  • Better to @ mention one of the admins  and we can move it there Wink. Double posting duplicate content in different forums is not something we encourage. Slight smile

  • Probably need a bit more to go on (size, rating, brandname perhaps) - but looks similar to some of the Bussman ones to me (e.g. SAFEloc range) - if perhaps an older version judging by the moulding. RS usually have a good range of less usual fuse carriers - e.g. https://uk.rs-online.com/web/c/fuses-circuit-breakers/fuse-holders-accessories/fuse-holders

  • perspicuous may have one in his workshop.

  • It seems that went bang with a vengeance. Do you especially need to replace like for like? And risk the same happening again? Or perhaps get something a bit beefier.

  • I have emailed a link to the stockholder of rare and obsolete electrical equipment as he doesn’t seem to pass this way these days.

  • Looks like a slidelock fuse, used to use them on the meter dept of the DNO I used to work for to protect contactors, also used in street lights, Bussmann make a similar one.

  • I live and learn, Google actually suggests a different spelling

  • I have one that is very similar and is marked "Lawson Fuses Clip Fit" 63 Amp. 415 Volt 5W. It can be held onto a back plate by a screw or a D.I.N. rail. The weakness here is the single terminal screws that may come loose.

The O.P's fuse seems to have been running hot for a considerable time. Overloaded perhaps?
