I fully understand what you are saying Andy, but here in Bristol it is difficult to find an electrician in a reasonable time period, and worse for a Gas fitter! Becoming the odd job man may work in some affluent areas, but I suggest you also get Gas Safe certification (not hard) and do that as well. You would probably find checkatrade would work ok too.
