A Good Reason to have a Local Hob Isolator.

This is not the link that I was looking for but it will do to illustrate the need for local hob electrical isolation. O.K. you may claim that the child lock can be used, but that is a faff and is often not used.

  • But people don't generally isolate their cooking appliances at the wall every time they leave the house (it messes up the clock settings if nothing else) - so a local isolator wouldn't have defeated the dog's antics even it it was fitted.

  • I do not think that I could be happy with a new ceramic hob. I prefer big clunky obvious simple controls. How did we manage years ago with no hob timers? But we did.

  • My mother and then my wife cooked some wonderful meals on an old solid, reliable cooker like this one. And with no hob timer www.ebay.co.uk/.../354117090275

  • Did they use the same cooker? How odd!

If you were posh, like us, the oven had a timer though.

  • Why odd Chris?

  • One might think that each would have her own cooker, but perhaps your wife inherited the cooker from your mother? None of our business really!
