Thou shall not steal .... except when electriciity is involved

Having returned from South African residence in 2000, I keep in touch. This video, shows the escalation of electricity meter abstraction going on there now. In a country with an escalation of daily power cuts, caused by lack of maintenance on power stations since the government changed colour. What does the future hold there ?. How does the level compare with the UK ?.

  • I'm surprised the meter tails are hidden behind boards to be honest.  I'd have expected some sort of  'plain sight' requirement ,as  the cable before the meter is an easier attack vector than the meter itself.

    Mind you funny things happen in the UK too.
