What is it and where does it go?

Recently our built in, under the worktop fridge failed and was replaced under extended warranty with a matching Neff K4316XFF0G. During unpacking a moulded plastic "thing" fell on the floor. The only id on it is a recycling symbol!

Not mentioned or shown in the installation instructions.  Our only thoughts are that it was packing for the attached 13A plug, but seems over engineered for a single use plastic item?

    Whatever it is you will find that shortly after you dispose of it that it is in fact the vital thingamajig that enables the whatchamacallit to reset the discombobulator, without which you have a not very effective boat anchor. So put it somewhere safe with the instructions so that when the reset is required you know you have one but have long since forgotten where the safe place was  and the part is now obsolete and everyone else who has one also cannot remember where it is.

    Ah, not to be confused with the spare hydrocoptic marzel vanes for  the turbo-encabulator.

    We have a draw of shower head removal keys, washer and dryer transit pins, loose gas jets and random kinked spanners that came with various appliances. Sadly only in the last decade have I started writing on them which item they came with so a number are 'orphans'. In our house it would probably end up in there.
