Emergency Disconnection

A mate of mine owns an old mill premises. He does not know the supplier or MPAN . The previous tennant will not give him access. the electrics is dangerous (raining in etc). I advised him to ring 105 where I hope they can do or advise on an emergency disconnection . Was I correct about this number? Thanks

  • It can be quite hard to get the MPAN no without knowing the name of the bill payer or supplier- I have had this problem when I needed a new token for a pre-pay meter. From memory it involved the citizens advice folk on 0345 404 0506 to find the supplier, and then calling them to associate the right meter with the flat. (it was a right mess and an hour wasted, as I reckon someone had cross linked the accounts of 2 flats with the same adress at some past point)

however 105 is definitely right for ' my supply cable is on fire ' so is probably a good start -at worst they will re-direct.
