AFDDs in medical locations

AFDDS are not required in Groups 1 and 2 medical locations and may be employed in Group 0 situations subject to risk assessment. Why the written get out clause specifically for medical situations? Was there someone on JPEL 64 minding the coppers for the NHS, or is there a more technical aspect to this that I am missing?

    Is suspect the reason is so you don't just install them according to the zone without considering what is happening in the room and the consequences of them tripping.

    The consequence of unwanted tripping outweigh any potential benefit - Also AFDDs should not be put on Medical IT circuits.
