Rcbo neutral cables, cut to length

Hi

Just a quick question. What is the preferred option when fitting rcbo’s with the long supply neutral cable pre wired into them, do you cut them to desired length and ferrule them or leave them as is and try to coil the excess cable up in the consumer unit?

Thanks

Peter

  • Cut and ferrule gets my vote too

  • The Garo fuse box has the option of double rail which makes it unessacary but is a bit frightening to look at

  • I am not sure that I follow that, but my main reason for going to Elex next week is to have a good look at what is available in CUs. It's hard to keep up and it will be useful to see a good selection all in one place.

  • Hi Chris, It`s a twin busbar under the RCBOs that feeds both the L & N in on the RCBO so you just have L & N out (to the circuit)  to contend with and no Flying N leads to worry about. Those busbars are pretty close together and separated by a bit of plastic
