Lighting Control Module Fires

Hi All,

I’m reviewing some recent incidents related to fires in Lighting Control Modules/Units. I know of 4 such incidents in recent history but I suspect this may be a wider issue. Specifically, I’m looking at LCMs of the type fitted within suspended ceilings. The type with luminaries and accessories plugged into and controlled by a Dali or similar system. Of the 4 I mentioned, 2 seemed to have been a result of poor installation, such as stress on cables and loose plugs overheating and the other 2 resulting from external faults, such as faulty ballast.
Has anyone anything similar to share? I’m looking to produce some recommendations for colleagues within my wider network. Things such as ongoing maintenance, additional recommendations for installation, any systems/methods to avoid etc.

Thanks,

David
