Does changing smoke detector heads in conventional fire alarm system warrant a certificate?

Question

Hi, does removing smoke detector head and putting it back require a modification certificate. Within the same room but different position.

I have to agree with gkenyon why would you not do a certificate, it is your evidence that you have done your job properly. It's the same if you replace a broken socket outlet in a room; you need to complete a minor works certificate. Think about what the man with the curly wig would ask you; if a fire broke out and you was the last engineer on site. You need to protect yourself.
