Cable Calculations 2396

I'm sitting my 2396 exam in June and I'm looking for some more cable calculation questions as I've exhausted the ones provided by Trade Skills.

I know mock exams and the like are pretty much non-existent but was hoping someone could point be in the right direction of some more practice questions?

Cheers

  • Start doing your own practice project, place different sized appliances round the place and work from there. It'll soon become clear if you've gone wrong when you compare similar sized cables and their lengths.

Be aware of cable grouping, I think that was the biggest thing to trip me over, I'd design for maybe 4 cables on a tray, then 6 more would need adding in, and , of course, grouping factors went up, so most cables then had to be calculated again.

The IET book, 'Electrical Installation Design Guide' is a pretty good book, which goes beyond 2396 I think, and well worth buying and digesting. It'll also help as a reference tool.
